2013 Season Preview

2012 was a great year for Coach Hatfield and the Rebel baseball program. They reached the 4A State Championship game for only the second time in school history.  They look to build on last year’s success with the return of 2 key players.  Drew Biddle will be the lone returning senior starter from last year. Coach Hatfield will rely on him to shoulder the load on the mound.  Another pitcher, Junior Aaron Schnell, will look to build off of his 6-1 pitching record in 2012.  The Rebels will look to many first year varsity players this year as well.  Senior Nick Kuntz figures to take on most of the catching duties. Fellow senior Dan Harris will be a probable starter in the outfield, and will see some action pitching.  The infield is wide open this year for playing time, as the Rebels graduated the entire infield from last season.

Coach Hatfield is also pleased to announce the addition of a few familiar faces to the coaching staff.  Jason Simpkins and Jordan Reeser will join the staff to assist with the freshman squad.  They were the starting middle infield in last year’s state final game.
