Roncalli H.S. Cheerleading Tryouts:

Saturday, May 12th at 9 am.

There are three clinic days for learning material on May 8th, 9th, and 10th from 3:30-5pm in the Roncalli gym. Call Coach Beth at 791-0133 with questions.

Since early June, the Roncalli Cheerleaders have been practicing and conditioning for the upcoming fall season. Forty-two girls make up the three cheer squads for this fall—16 Varsity, 14 JV and 12 Freshmen.

The girls have been working very hard during the summer to learn chants and cheers that will get the crowd going this year. As always, they spent time brainstorming on ways to continue raising the spirit at Roncalli. At the end of June, the girls attended a four day Universal Cheerleader Association cheer camp where they learned dances, cheers, and other spirit material. Just as in recent years, the girls were recognized by the camp for having tremendous spirit and leadership, but most of all camp was a wonderful bonding experience for the girls.

Several members of the squad were also recognized as All-American Cheerleaders. This prestigious award is given after a tryout on the last day of camp, to the most talented girls in all aspects of cheering. Congratulations to Angela Parrett, Abby Lewinski, Danielle Vansickle, Lauren McCauley, Kalyn Lind, Sally Scheaffer, Ally Egan, Kelly Schubach, Bailey Koons, Trist DeBolt, Hickory Cole, Lauren Monteith, Allie Burkhardt, Emily Strattman, and Ali Rollins for being recognized as All-American Cheerleaders for 2011.

The girls are really looking forward to the upcoming football season and hope that the spirit at Roncalli is at the highest level ever! The cheerleaders plan to lead by example and stay true to their motto:
