2007 Boys' Cross Country Season Review
The boys cross country team rounded out a very solid campaign in 2007 with a 5th consecutive trip to Indianapolis semi-state. The Rebels were led most of the season by senior Sean McGuire. Sean earned All-County, All-Sectional, All-Regional and Academic All-State honors as he steadily progressed into a fine top runner for the Rebels. Sean’s time of 16:25 placed him 9th on the all-time list for Roncalli. Sophomore Alex Schoettle (All-Sectional) and junior Zach Zobel (All-Sectional and All-Regional) also joined Sean on the Rebels all-time top 20 list as they pushed into the number 17 and 18 spots.
As a team, the Rebels were champions of the Pendleton Heights Invitational for the second consecutive year, placed 6th at the Marion County Meet (2nd best finish ever) and placed a best ever 3rd at the Rushville Regional. Throughout the season, the team kept improving due largely to a mix of good leadership and developing young talent. Excited about the upcoming track and field season, the young Rebels will be looking to continue their development and competitiveness in hopes of breaking new barriers next season.
A big thank you from the program goes out to our five seniors: Jacob Blackwell, Austin Carpenter, Thomas Hosty, Sean McGuire and Evan Schludecker for good solid leadership and for representing yourself, your families and Roncalli well.
