Boys' Golf 2009 Season Review
The Boys’ Varsity Golf Team began their season with a win at the Ritter Golf Classic at Winding River GC in a one hole playoff against Brebeuf Jesuit. Both teams tied with a score of 296 and also tied the 5th man score with 80's. After a few tough losses, with a score of 310, Roncalli (#12 State Rank) placed 5th out of 12 teams in the Bishop Chatard Invitational at Heartland Crossing Golf Links. With a score of 305, Roncalli placed 4th out of 16 teams in the Marion County Tournament at Winding River GC. The boys (#17 State Rank) placed 6th out of 13 teams with a team score of 318 in the North Central Invitational at Coffin GC. Louie Gleixner and Andrew Fogg lead the scoring for Roncalli with 4 over par 76's, followed by Ian Huston with 80 and Anthony Traina with an 86. Roncalli (#20 State Rank) placed 2nd out of 20 teams in the Franklin Central Invitational played at Smock GC. The team captured the Sectional Championship, for the 2nd year in a row, with a team score of 310.
