2007 Season Review
With a rainy start to the Boys’ Golf season, the Marion County Tournament came quickly, but the boys pulled a third place finish at Eagle Creek with a team score of 321. Robert Gleixner was the Individual County Champion shooting a 74. Brendan Gaughan shot a 78, placing him 5th. The Rebels defeated the Ritter Raiders and placed second at the Chatard Invite with a 324 out of 13 teams. Robert Gleixner shot a 71, finishing in 2nd place individually. Zane Willis shot an 82 for the Rebels. The boys continued during the season to defeat Lawrence Central, 148-162. Zane Willis was Medalist shooting a 34, Robert Gleixner shot a 36 with Dallas Sherard shooting a 38.
The team placed 4th out of 13 teams with a 311 in the North Central Invite at Coffin Golf Course. Robert Gleixner was even par shooting a 72 winning the invite individually. Dallas Sherard shot a 76, and Zane Willis shot an 80. The Rebels placed 4th out of 22 teams in the Franklin Central Invite with a 318. The golfers finished up the season with wins over Ben Davis and Scecina and then took on Cathedral, Center Grove and Speedway placing 2nd. Robert Gleixner was Medalist for Roncalli shooting a 35, and Mike Sudzina shot a 39. The team won Sectionals Friday, June 1st at Heartland Crossing shooting a 299. Robert Gleixner was Sectional Champion with a 70. Brendan Gaughan shot a 72, placing him third. Mike Sudzina shot a 77; Louie Gleixner shot an 80 and Zane Willis shot an 84. The RHS Varsity Golf Team finished this year’s season placing 10th at Regionals.
Senior Robert Glexiner signed a letter of intent to play golf at Florida Golf Coast University next year.
