2010 Season Preview

Although the 2009 teams graduated six seniors, the Rebel Volleyball team returns several experienced players. The squad will be led by Junior All-Star and Second Team All State player, C.J. Allard and Junior All-Star, Brian Sahm. These two seniors started varsity last year and are expected to lead the team to greater heighths in the 2010 season. Also joining them is a two year Varsity setter, Nick Jennings. Nick was selected on the All-Tournament team during the State Tournament. Brenden Massing came on strong in the latter half of the season earning a starting spot at Middle Blocker. Brenden, along with Clayton Bontrager, will be expected to bring some exciting play into the next season. The Junior Varsity team developed some solid performers who may provide some great competition within the program. Josh Brown, Danny Battiato, and Doug King are just a few of theplayers to look forward to seeing play next year.

2009 Season Review

The 2009 Boy's Volleyball season was a season filled with many achievements and accolades!! First year coaches, Jane Jennings, Mitch Allard, and Dan Deak lead their program to a new level of play. The Varsity team started out ranked #10 in the State and finish in the top 5. The team won it's first ever Regional Championship and made it for the first time to the State Tournament where the top 8 teams compete for the State Championship. They finished the season with a 24-6 record. Five of those losses were to #1 and #2 in the State. The Junior Varsity also finished with a winning season in 2009.

Senior Connor Mullin was named First Team, All-State. Junior C.J. Allard was named Second Team, All-State. Sophomore Nick Jennings was named to the All-Tournament Team at the State Tournament. Juniors Brian Sahm and C.J. Allard were selected for the Junior All-Stars. The following Seniors earned All-State Academic: Chris Gin, Jason Ruhanna, Andrew Saling, Connor Mullin, and Sam Patterson.

The Roncalli boys showed much heart and dedication to a new coaching staff. The challenge was to remain in the top ten and win Regionals. The coaches put a concerted effort into raising the bar to put Roncalli Boys' Volleyball on the map. The new challenge for the 2010 season will raise the expectations of the boys and the coaches even higher. We look forward to working to meet these new challenges.
