2009-2010 Review

The Wrestling Team finished the season with a 14-4 record and advanced six individual wrestlers to the Semi-State round of the IHSAA Individual Wrestling State Tournament. Special congratulations to Josh Kieffer and Justin Kieffer who were Regional Champions. Joining them at the Semi-State were Josh King, Aaron Davis, Danny Rojas and Jake Bartley. This is the 2nd consecutive year that Roncalli wrestlers have competed at the state level.

Two Roncalli Rebels advanced to State Competition - Josh and Justin Kieffer! These two Rebels were Semi-State Runners Up.

The team competed against #3 ranked Yorktown in the 2010 IHSAA Wrestling Team State Finals at Center Grove High School. The Rebels wrestled tremendously but fell short to Yorktown 31-24. Roncalli wrestlers winning individually included: Josh Kieffer, Justin Kieffer, Ben Kane, Logan Zielinski, Danny Rojas and Jake Bartley.

Juniors Justin and Josh Kieffer were victorious in their first two matches in the Individual State Finals before losing in a semi-final match and ended up finishing fourth in their respective weight class.

Senior Ben Kane received the Sportsmanship Award, and Senior Aaron Davis received the Mental Attitude Award.
