SENIOR REBEL ATTENDS NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM

INDIANAPOLIS - November 21, 2005 - Roncalli High School senior Harrison Stone recently participated in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law in Washington D.C. The National Youth Leadership Forum on Law gives students an up-close look at the legal profession, the opportunity to watch the judicial process in action and the chance to go behind the scenes in courts, government agencies and more in Washington, D.C.

In the spring of 2005, Stone was presented the idea from RHS English educator Mrs. Marilyn Miles and was nominated by Miles to be accepted to the program as a scholar. With a GPA higher than 3.3 and upon completing an application, Harrison was accepted to the tuition-based program.

For five days, Harrison was in Washington D.C. amongst over 400 students from all over the country learning about the law profession.

“I definitely have a better understanding of being a lawyer after attending the forum. We were able to hear Supreme Court cases and actually argue some mock trial cases. I was even in the same room as George W. Bush! We also visited D.C. law schools and met with judicial reporters from MSNBC. It was a great experience,” commented Stone.

Harrison Stone plans to attend Wabash College upon graduation from Roncalli High School. He is the son of Ed and Mary Stone.

Principal Chuck Weisenbach comments on Stone, “Harrison has been an outstanding student since his first days here as a freshman. A bright, articulate young man with a pleasant personality, he is a delight to have as a student. Harrison takes his academic studies seriously and takes the pursuit of knowledge seriously. He also is intent on using his many God given skills to the best of his ability."
