Missy (Abbott) Marsh - Head Coach

Missy Abbott Marsh2010 will mark the third season at the helm of the Roncalli volleyball program and the 9th season as a head coach for Missy Marsh. Last season, the Rebels finished with a mark of 23-10.

Missy is a 1993 graduate of Roncalli where she was a three-sport athlete lettering in volleyball, basketball and track. After attending Roncalli, she received a volleyball scholarship to Morehead State University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education in 1997. She received her Master's degree in Language Arts from the University of South Florida in 2002.

Coach Marsh started her coaching career at Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Florida where she served as an assistant coach in 2000 and 2001. Lake Gibson was district champions in both seasons. She also served as a club coach in the Lakeland Juniors Volleyball Club. Beginning in 2002, Marsh took over the volleyball program at Boyd County High School in Ashland, Kentucky, beginning an unprecedented run for the school's program. During her two years as the coach at Boyd County, she notched a record of 65-10, including a regional championship and an appearance in the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen in 2003. She was twice named Coach of the Year by the Ashland Daily Independent. From 2004 to 2007, Marsh was the head coach at Perry Meridian High School, where she amassed a four-year record of 70-60. Her rebuilding of the Falcon program culminated with a sectional championship in 2007.

As a Roncalli player, Missy was 1st Team All-State and an Indiana All-Star in 1992. She was All-City four times ('89, '90, '91, and '92), All-County two times ('91 and '92) and finished 2nd in the 400 meter dash at the 1993 state track meet. Also in 1993, she was named Indianapolis Star City Athlete of the Year and MCCGSA Marion County Athlete of the Year. At Morehead State, she was a three-time All-Ohio Valley Conference performer ('94, '95, and '96) and made the OVC All-Tournament Team in 1993 and 1996. She left the school as the all-time leader in games played and 2nd all-time in kills and total attacks. As a student-athlete, she was a four-time member of the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll and her MSU team led Division I in team GPA in 1993 and 1994.

Missy is an ENL teacher at Central Catholic Elementary School and a member of St. Roch Parish, where she also attended while growing up on the Southside. She and her husband Scott are the proud parents of Luke (6), Kennedy (5), and Callaway (3).

Christina (Marx) Rose
Varsity Assistant

Christina Marx RoseChristina is a 1999 graduate of Roncalli where she was a four-year starter on the volleyball team. She earned All-City ('97 and '98), All-Metro ('97 and '98), Indianapolis Star Super Team ('98), 2nd Team All-State ('98), and Indiana All-Star honors. She helped lead Roncalli to the 3A State Volleyball Championship in 1998 while serving as co-captain and team MVP. She went on to accept a volleyball scholarship to Indiana State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business.

Christina served as a varsity assistant with Coach Marsh at Perry Meridian High School in both 2004 and 2007. In 2005 and 2006, she was an assistant coach at Kathleen High School in Lakeland, Florida. The 2006 Kathleen team was district champions, set records for most wins in a season and held the school's first state ranking. Coach Rose also coaches at Team Indiana. She was an assistant with the 16 Pumas that finished 5th at AAU Nationals.

Christina teaches Business at Perry Meridian High School. She and her husband, Brad, live in Greenwood with their dogs Brutus and Cubby.

Angie (Wilson) Schnell
Varsity Assistant and JV Coach

Angie Wilson SchnellAngie is a 1990 graduate of Roncalli. She played on undefeated Rebel teams in 1986 and 1987 and was named All-City ('88 and '89), All-Metro ('89), and All-State ('89). After graduation, she went on to play at Kankakee Community College, where she was an All-American in 1991, and Northeastern Illinois University. Coach Schnell began her coaching career as an assistant at Martinsville High School, where they were state runners-up in 1994 and 1995.

Angie is a resource assistant at St. Roch Elementary School. She has been married to Jay for 17 years and they have three children: Aaron (14), Bailey (13), and Nicholas (10). They are members of St. Roch Parish.

Jenna Beckham
JV Assistant

Jenna ZikeJenna is a 2003 graduate of Beech Grove where she was a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball. In 2002, she was All-Conference and All-County. Coach Beckham went on to graduate from the University of Indianapolis with a degree in Elementary Education. She currently teaches in the developmental Preschool program for Perry Township. 2009 marks her third year in coaching. She was an assistant coach at Perry Meridian High School in 2007 and is in her third year as an assistant coach at Roncalli. She and her husband, Anthony, live on the Southside.

Desirae (Cobb) Spearing
Freshman Coach

Desirae Cobb SpearingDesirae is a 1998 graduate of RHS. As a Roncalli volleyball player from 1994 to 1997, she was a member of the 1997 3A Final Four team. She is a 2002 graduate of Ball State University with an Elementary Education degree, where she was also a member of the BSU club team. Coach Spearing has coached in both CYO and club volleyball.

Spearing and her husband, Eric, who is also a Roncalli graduate, have a two-year-old son, Charlie and welcomed daughter Rosanna in the past year. She has taught Kindergarten for eight years and is moving to Pre-school at Our Lady of the Greenwood. She is a member of Holy Name Parish.

Michelle Mislan
Freshman Coach

Michelle is a 2004 graduate of Roncalli High School. She lettered in volleyball and earned Academic All State. She accepted a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball at East Tennessee State University. She was voted by her team to be captain and helped lead the team to be undefeated in the Atlantic Sun Conference resulting in a championship ring. She made all tournament team while playing in a tournament at Indiana University and received the Buc Heart award two out of four years while attending ETSU. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Biology with a concentration along the pre-med track.

Michelle has helped coach at St. Jude School, where she attended grade school, and has coached 17-1s for two years at Team Indiana Volleyball Club. This is Michelle's first season coaching at Roncalli High School.

Michelle works in drug development in the Biotech division of Covance Laboratories Inc. She owns a home on the south side of Indianapolis and attends St. Jude Parish.
