Choral Director – Emma Richards
Emma Richards is beginning her first year as the choir director at Roncalli High School in the 2026–2027 school year. She graduated from Center Grove High School in 2022 before earning her degree in Choral/General Music Education from Butler University in May 2026. During her time at Butler, she performed with the Butler Chorale and Butler Chamber Singers and sang professionally in a local church choir. She was also involved in Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity for women, and Butler’s collegiate chapter of the National Association for Music Education. Her love for choral music began at an early age through the Indianapolis Children’s Choir and continued through her years in the Center Grove choral program. Those experiences helped shape her passion for music education and inspired her to become a choir teacher.
Emma is passionate about creating a choir program where students can grow as musicians, performers, and human beings. She believes being part of a choir can build confidence, community, independence and a lifelong appreciation for music. Outside of the classroom, Emma performs locally as a singer and guitarist and enjoys collecting records, traveling, hiking and spending time outdoors. She is excited to begin her teaching career at Roncalli and become part of the incredible school community.
