Jessica Engel
Varsity Head Coach

Jessica Engel is entering her first season as Roncalli’s varsity head cheerleading coach and her third year as a school counselor at Roncalli. She is a 1999 Roncalli graduate, and was the co-captain of the cheerleading squad and a softball player during her years at Roncalli. She cheered on the coed squad at Marian University for four years and was the co-captain during her senior year. Engel began coaching cheerleading when she was 18 years old and coached the Roncalli freshman and JV squads for five years. She was the varsity cheerleading coach at Warren Central High School for eight years, while teaching science at the school for 15 years. She also has coached gymnastics and all-star cheer squads with various teams in the CYO and in Franklin Township. Engel earned a master’s from Butler University in 2010 and is an active member of Nativity Parish, where her two daughters attend school. She is excited to get back on the sidelines with these talented young ladies this year!



Lauren Ashby
JV Head Coach

This is Lauren Ashby’s first year as a coach at Roncalli High School. She is originally from Crown Point, where she cheered all four years at Crown Point High School, graduating in 2017. She is a recent graduate from Purdue University and now works as a pricing analyst at Carrier Corporation in downtown Indianapolis. Ashby recently moved to Greenwood and is excited to be involved in the Roncalli community!



Sarah Ervin
Freshmen Head Coach

Sarah Ervin is in her first year of coaching at Roncalli High School. She is a 1999 Roncalli graduate, where she cheered, played soccer and tennis, in addition to participating in gymnastics. She attended Purdue University and works in the aviation industry. Along with her husband and daughter, she is a parishioner at Nativity, where her daughter attends school. She is an active Girl Scout Troop leader. Ervin is thrilled to be working with the freshmen this year and is excited to build the program along with coach Engel and coach Ashby.
