Lacey Hersman
Varsity Head Coach

Lacey Hersman enters her first season as the varsity head coach of Roncalli's girls soccer program after four seasons as a varsity assistant. She is a 2008 graduate of Center Grove High School. She went on to play soccer at Marian University while earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics. Hersman came to Roncalli from Marquette Catholic High School in Michigan City, Indiana. She taught at Marquette for five years and served as the varsity girls soccer head coach. During the 2016 season, Hersman became the program’s winningest coach and led the Blazers to the best record in program history. She holds a State E and National D coaching license through the US Soccer Federation. At Roncalli, she is a math department co-chair, teaching algebra, geometry and AP statistics.



Erin Darland
Assistant Coach

Erin Darland enters her third season with the girls soccer program. She is a 2012 Roncalli graduate and was a four-year varsity girls soccer letter-winner, as well as a member of the track team. She then attended Saint Joseph's College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology and was a member of their women's soccer team. She also earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Marian University and is now a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital.


Grace Ponist
Assistant Coach

Grace Ponist is returning for her third season with Roncalli girls soccer team as an assistant coach/keeper specialist. She attended St. Dominic High School in O'Fallon, Missouri and was a multi-sport athlete (soccer, cross country, and track). After graduating in 2009, she attended St. Mary-of-the-Woods College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in music therapy and participated in collegiate athletics. Before joining the Roncalli girls soccer program, Ponist was the head coach of the boys soccer program at Westlane Middle School for two seasons. She is a Special Education Coach for Indianapolis Public Schools.



Romey Hersman
Assistant Coach

Romie Hersman begins his first season on the girls soccer coaching staff. He has served as a club coach at South Central Soccer Academy (formerly known as South Central Premier) four years and as the club’s director of travel for three years. Hersman holds a State E coaching license through the US Soccer Federation. He is a retired air traffic controller.
