2018 Varsity Girls Volleyball Team

2018 Season Preview

The 2018 Rebel volleyball team returns a tremendous amount of experience and firepower from last season’s team, which won Marion County, Circle City Conference and Sectional titles. Leading this year’s team is senior outside hitter Grace Hegwood, who was an All-County, All-District and All-Conference performer last season. Hegwood is a three-year starter and is joined offensively by senior middle hitters Betsy Crosley and Elizabeth Eads. Crosley is a four-year starter and Eads, an All-Conference and All-County performer last season, is a three-year starter. Junior rightside hitter Abby Johnson returns for her third season as a starter.

Sophomore Miranda Wilson returns as a starter at outside hitter to provide front-line offense. Versatile senior Maggie Schoening returns to provide depth, as well. Defensively, the Rebels return experienced senior Taylor Kehoe in the back row. She will be joined by juniors Molly Roeder and Grace Irmer and freshman Emma Halter. Taking over as setter this season will be junior Elizabeth Origer and sophomore Hannah Cushing.

The schedule features a difficult Circle City Conference slate, as the Rebels attempt to win their third-straight conference title. Roncalli, the defending sectional champion, will again compete in a sectional field against Ben Davis, Pike, Perry Meridian, Southport and Decatur Central.
