Girls’ Tennis 2017 Review
The girls tennis team posted one of its best seasons in recent years, finishing with a 17-5 record and capturing the program's first sectional title since 2013 and 10th overall. In the sectional final, the Rebels defeated Franklin Central 3-2, with the trophy-clinching victory coming in the number-two doubles match. Juniors Ally Lewis and Lauren Liberto won 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) and sealed the victory in a thrilling third-set tiebreaker. After defeating Triton Central 5-0 in the regional final, the team dropped a 3-2 decision to state-ranked Center Grove in the regional final.
Freshman Emma Hess won an individual sectional title and advanced to the regional. She also earned the team's MVP award. Senior Kathleen Ditton won the team's mental attitude award. Senior Abby Yohler was named first team Academic All-State.
