Varsity Head Coach
Tim Gray begins his first season as Roncalli’s girls varsity basketball head coach. This marks a return to Roncalli for Gray, as he spent five seasons (2007-08 through 2011-12) in the program, including the final four as the JV head coach. He comes to Roncalli after five seasons as a varsity assistant coach at Southport High School. Included in his 13 years of high school coaching are two seasons as a boys varsity assistant coach at Center Grove High School. Gray is a 2001 graduate of East Central High School and a 2005 Franklin College graduate. He is in his eighth year of teaching third grade at Mary Bryan Elementary after teaching for eight years at Jeremiah Gray Elementary. He and his wife Kim (Mislan (R’01)) have three daughters: Layla (12), Nora (9) and Ella (7).
Rachel Parker begins her first year on the Roncalli girls basketball coaching staff. A native of Bloomington, Parker played basketball at Bloomington High School South, graduating in 2008. She played two seasons of college basketball at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne before graduating from Indiana University in 2013. She started her coaching career during the 2010-11 season at Bloomington South. After she moved to Indianapolis in 2013, she coached at Southport Middle School for one season, then spent seven seasons at Southport High School, with the last three as the JV head coach. Parker is entering her seventh year of teaching at Mary Bryan Elementary and her second as an EL teacher.
JV Blue Head Coach
Jason Sims is in his third year with the girls basketball program and his second as the head coach of the JV Blue team. He is a 1996 graduate of Eminence High School, where he was a four-year letterman on the varsity basketball team. Sims played collegiately for two seasons at Vincennes University under legendary coach Dan Sparks. While playing with the Trailblazers, he won the Jane Anne Whitemore Mr. Hustle Award two years in a row and played alongside future NBA All-Star Shawn Marion. Sims finished his playing career at Marian University under head coach John Grimes and was named a tri-captain his senior year. Sims has a record of 54-12 as a girls varsity basketball coach at Eminence and was named Tri-River Conference Coach of the Year twice in that span. Sims also serves as Roncalli’s assistant athletic director.
JV Blue Assistant
Morgan (Hendricks) Clifford enters her seventh season with the program. During her time in the program, she has worked on both the JV and freshman staffs and served as the JV head coach during the 2018-19 season. She graduated from Roncalli in 2013 and was a member of the team that won the 2013 Regional Championship. She is a nurse at St. Francis Hospital in labor and delivery.
JV Red Head Coach
LaDarius Mathis is entering his first year as the JV Red head coach, and his 16th overall. Last season, he served as an assistant on Roncalli’s boys freshman basketball team. Coach Mathis graduated from Tyler Street Christian Academy in Dallas, Texas, where he earned all-state honors in both football and basketball. He has coached football and basketball at various levels over the years and also served in the United States Army for a little over eight and a half years, including a deployment Afghanistan. Coach Mathis and his wife, Vanessa, have four children, all of whom attend Our Lady of the Greenwood.
JV Red Assistant
Vanessa Mathis is in her first year on the girls basketball coaching staff. She was born in Dallas, Texas, and played college basketball for three years and graduated from The University of North Texas. She has coached basketball and volleyball for a total of six years. She currently teaches at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic School. She and her husband, LaDarius, have been married for 14 years. They have four kids at OLG: LaDarius Jr. (eighth grade), Bryce (seventh grade), Christian (kindergarten) and Madison (pre-K3).
