Gymnastics 2021-22 Season Review

The gymnastics team posted a 28-8 regular-season record and put together its best season in a decade. The team finished third in the sectional, with a season-high team score of 105.275, to advance to the regional as a team for the first time since 2012. That score represented an increase of over three points (102.2 to 105.275) from the beginning of the season. The team followed that performance up with a fourth-place finish the following week at regional. Senior Gabby Conjelko finished third on the bars and the beam, fifth in the vault and fourth in the all-around at sectional. Sophomore Elizabeth Schafer finished sixth on the bars at sectional. The following week at regional, Conjelko finished sixth on the bars and beam and fifth in the all-around to qualify for state for the third-straight year. She’s the first Roncalli gymnast to qualify for state three years in a row since Katie and Cassie Schultheis completed the feat in 2012. At the state final at Ball State University, Conjelko finished 17th in the all-around.

Gabby Conjelko was named the team’s MVP and senior Addie Elsener won the team’s mental attitude award.
