2019-20 Varsity Gymnastics

Gymnastics 2019-20 Review

The gymnastics team posted a 20-12 regular-season record, for its highest win total in over a decade. The team was one of the largest and youngest in recent years. Of the 13 gymnasts on the roster, only one – senior Addy Hill – wasn’t a freshman or sophomore. During the regular season, the team won the eight-team Franklin Central Invite and placed third out of 10 teams in the Connersville Invite. At Connersville, the team registered a season-best team score of 101.55. The team finished sixth in the sectional for a second straight season, but improved its sectional team score by 0.65 over last year. Sophomore Gabby Conjelko became the first gymnast in four years to advance to the state final. She finished fourth on the bars and fifth in the all around at sectional and moved on to the regional. She earned a sixth-place finish on the bars at regional to grab the final state-qualifying spot. At the state final at Ball State University, she finished 26th in the bars. Conjelko earned the team's MVP award and freshman Maddie Baker won the team's mental attitude award.
