Roncalli High School Community Service Mission Statement
It is through serving others that we respond to the Gospel command which directs us to live a life of love for God and neighbor, and it is through living our faith in action that we are the Body of Christ in the world.
Why Community Service?
As a part of our universal Catholic Church, the Roncalli High School Community Service Program seeks to guide each student in their formation to be disciples of Christ by serving the poor, the vulnerable and the marginalized in our society. We do this through service to our own Roncalli community, parish communities and the larger Indianapolis community. We are guided by the words of St. Teresa of Calcutta:
“We can do no great things – only small things with great love”
Saint Teresa recognizes in this quote that we are not all called to “move mountains”, but to love others to the best of our abilities In her loving service to one person at a time, Saint Mother Teresa changed the lives of millions. Can we each find a way to serve others with love, one person at a time?
Student service requirements can be found at the link to the right. As a community, we are always looking for opportunities to serve, especially for the handicapped, poor and elderly. If you have a service opportunity for Roncalli or any questions about our program, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your support of our Community Service Program
