Band Director – Laura Gottman

Laura Gottman is starting her 9th year of teaching and first year as director of bands at Roncalli. A graduate of Roncalli High School R’10, and the University of Dayton (cum laude), Laura has also taught at Roncalli High School previously as the assistant band director, as well as St. Luke Catholic School. At Roncalli Laura has been involved in Summer Field Studies and Junior Rebel Theater (JRT) for several summers.  Laura also performs regularly in the Indiana Wind Symphony on French horn.

This past October, Laura (Horcher) Gottman married Aaron Gottman in Brown County. They currently have three fur babies: Luna, their dog, Val, and Javert, their two cats. Laura also is a south side native growing up at St. Barnabas with her parents Linus and Meg as well as her two sisters Amanda R’08 and Rachael R’06.

Laura’s goal as a teacher is “to spread music through compassion and creativity.” She loves meeting challenges head on, and watching students grow and push themselves. She looks forward to this year as the new director and is excited to be back at RHS.
