Parent Volunteer Opportunities At Roncalli

Academic Teams - If your student is part of one of the academic teams (Mock Trial, Spell Bowl, Speech team, etc.) this provides a great opportunity for you to volunteer as a judge at one of the competitions or volunteer to help chaperone at one of the meets. Royal Speech Team - The Roncalli Speech Team's season typically runs from November through February, with meets being held on Saturdays. The speech coaches are always seeking parental volunteers to judge for the speech meet as each participating school is required to provide some specific number of judges. The speech coaches are more than happy to "train" anyone who is interested. They have a packet of information that we can email out to anyone who wants it. After Prom - The Roncalli Parents Organization sponsors an After Prom for Roncalli juniors and seniors each year following the Prom. It is open to all Roncalli juniors and seniors, regardless of whether or not they attend the Prom. This fun-filled event typically runs from 11:00 PM until 2:30 AM and is held at the school. It requires extensive parental volunteers, which can consist of working the actual event and/or assisting in the planning for the event. Job Shadows - We welcome all in the Roncalli Family to offer their services as a job shadow for current students. Interested persons should contact Roncalli guidance counselor, Kathy Heath, at to have their name added to a list of career professionals wanting to participate in the program or to find out more details.

Career Day Event - We welcome all in the Roncalli Family to participate in our annual Career Day Event held the first week in November. Interested professionals should contact Roncalli guidance counselor, Kathy Heath, at

Chili Supper – This event is sponsored by the Roncalli Parents Organization and is ehdl on an every other year basis prior to an Roncalli football game. This is a great way to meet other parents and students and build community. Look for a link to sign up in the Weekly Newsletter.

Fish Fry – This event is sponsored by the Roncalli Parents Organization and is held annually on Ash Wednesday. Volunteers are needed to work the Fish Fry and make donations. This is a great way to meet other parents and students and build community. Look for a link to sign up in the Weekly Newsletter.

Little Royals Daycare - The Little Royals Daycare is located right around the corner from Roncalli in Carson Square Strip Mall. They are always looking for volunteers to rock infants, play games with toddlers, or read stories to the preschool. Come as often or as little as your schedule allows. Fine Arts Booster Club - If your child is enrolled in and/or participates in a choral, band or theater class or program, the Fine Arts Booster Club is a great way to meet other parents, support your child and support the Roncalli Fine Arts program. Roncalli Athletic Boosters - The RABC offers you a wonderful opportunity to meet other Roncalli parents while providing support for the overall Roncalli athletic department. Contact person would be Roncalli Athletic Director, David Lauck, at or 317-787-8277, extension 263.

Team Meals/Support - Parents of many of our athletes support their child and their child's team by assisting with team meals or other team related functions. Often times contact information is distributed at the pre season parent meeting. The head coach of your child's team also maybe able to provide contact information.

Club Moderators - Roncalli will offer between 40-50 clubs during the course of a school year. The number fluctuates from year to year based on students' interests. Celebration Roncalli - Celebration Roncalli is our largest annual fundraiser (dinner auction) that raises funds for families in need of tuition assistance. There are many ways to get involved. You can join the planning committee, volunteer to be a job host for a student, make a donation, or just attend the event. Look for information in the weekly newsletter starting in January or contact Jeen Endris at for more information.

Roncalli Spirit Store - The Spirit Store can use help selling Roncalli spirit wear at events throughout the year. Some of these events include sporting events, Back to School Night, Grandparent's Day, etc. If you are interested, please contact Wendy Lawrie at

STARS Program – Assist the STARS program in administering semester exams. Watch for an announcement in the December and April Weekly Newsletters or contact

Walk-A-Thon – The Office of Institutional Advancement needs volunteers each year to help on the day of the Walkathon by directing the students along the route or passing out refreshments. Contact Rachel Brown at if interested.

French National Week - Usually held the third week of November parents are welcome to come and assist in the French classes with the serving of food/snacks as well as with the clean-up from the day's activities. There is also a before school French breakfast during this time for which volunteers are welcome to assist with the set-up and serving of breakfast. Contact is Denise Joseph at
